Breast carcinoma in young women is a serious illness, with about 130 new cases diagnosed, a year, in the Czech Republic. In comparison to the malignant tumor of older women, it is more dangerous and agressive, and is caught in the latter stages. Because of this, the breast carcinoma calls for more younger victims. For this reason, the Oncological Clinic of the General University Hospital and the Medical Institute of the University of Charles in Prague put a registry in place for young women with this disease- today, more than 600 patients are thus registered. Working with the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute, oncological centers and even oncological ambulances, we are looking for optimal diagnostic and curing methods that we hope will help turn our patients’ fate for the better. In addition to taking care of the patients and giving them the possibility to consult their treatment, we are here to give them help not only with their health, but also with the eventual psychological effects their diagnosis could spur along with social or family problems. Project 35 is the only one independent, nationwide clinical research program for the breast carcinoma in the Czech Republic.
